  • Any additional functions for AquariumCity v3.5 (2000/8/14)

  • Q1. How to display only background color (bgcolor)

The bgcolor is shown first, thereafter overwrite background image file. Therefore, please comment out background parameter by ! signal or should delete background parameter.
Q2DJPEG background image file is not shown correctly in the applet field (1998/6/12)

AquariumCity applet introduced the function to enlarge small size one to the applet width/height sizes automatically. The function to enlarge from very small size to large one is mostly no problem.

The problem may be happend in case to use not so small one or large one than the size of the applet field. If you will observe such phoenomenon, please adjust the original image file size as under manner.

  • Very near to the applet size but its still small one: Image size should be adjusted to the applet size or, fit the applet size to the image size.

  • Very near to the applet size but its large one than the applet size: Image size should be adjusted to the applet size or, fit the applet size to the image size.

  • Another solution is to use bgrayer parameter definition instead of background parameter instead.
  • Q3. Applet does not work at all (1998/6/12)

One of following reasons is the cause.

  • Either of imagenumber, rayernumber and messagenumber is much numbers than the actual numbers of image files being defined

  • rayernumber or messagenumber parameter is exceeded than the imagenumber parameter.
  • Q4. Some image data file is not shown anything

One of following reasons is the cause.

  • X Y position of the image parameter are beyond the downmax and or upmax parameter.

  • X Y position of the image parameter are beyond the left max parameter or righ max parameter.

  • Used wrong image file name, or non of actual image file being stored in the Pc or Server.
  • Q5. Shown different image file after the turn at corner

One of following reasons is the cause.

  • The wrong sequence of image data files definitions.

For example, the definition imagenumber=10 is requested 20 of image files in total. The first 10 images are normal images. The 1st to 10th images are pared with 11th to 20th.

The wrong sequence may show different image file by the turn at corner.
  • Q6. How to show image endless

Use two equivalent image file may show it endless as under example. Kindly refer the sample source codes of follwing. However, please keep in mind that, the carefull adjustment of X position would be requested since its depended on the image size and applet field length you will use.

Q7. Why stopped animations after a few minutes, or violated

  • lack of copyright or regcode results stoppage or violation after a few minutes. Please define source html code correctly followed to the prescriptions.

  • Mis-use of parameters layer images or random images may cause such stoppage or violation. Please check numbers of | separater. and parameters.i1998/6/30)

  • Q8. Netscape, high cpu power during working some xxx.gif image file

Such phenomenon has been observed in Netscape browser if you may use incorrect file. MSIE case is very less. Please find the incorrect xxx.gif file in problem and re-edit it, overwrite with same name again by correct editor program, so that such phenomenon will be solved.
( It seems that its rather difficult to find such situation on Netscape now. Say improved !)(1999/6/1)

    Q9. Netscape, high cpu power

Same of above Q8. In addition, please change sleeptime parameter to your convenient one.
( It seems that its rather difficult to find such situation on Netscape now. Say improved !)(1999/6/1)

Q10. High cpu power for GIF Animation file

Such phenomenon has been observed in browsers. Forget to use GIF Animation file or to use small size of GIF Animation file.
( MSIE is quite fine. On Netscape, a little high CPU power may be, but it may be no problem to enjoy this.)(1999/6/1)

Let's try to enjoy AquariumCity applet with GIF animations ! Sample is HERE.

Q11. No link is worked despite the definitions and touch by mouse

The lack of jumpto or target may cause such problem. The definition of link parameter to jumpto parameter and target parameter is indispensable for the definition in each layer or random image parameters.

Q12. Separation from one to next layer parameter (1998/6/12)

You can minimize unnecessary parameters. For example,

  • [Standard sample]
    image/f66.gif|570|20|2|0|834|0|40|40|water_sp1.html|Spring Water|0|10|*|,
    image/f66.gif|760|20|3|0|834|0|40|40|ship1.html|Ship Applet|0|10|*|,

  • Miminized sample-1 (non link case)
    image/f66.gif|570|20|2|0|834|0|40|40| | |0|10|*|,
    image/f66.gif|760|20|3|0|834|0|40|40|*|,
    image/f66.gif|760|20|3|0|834|0|,

Note) | signal is a separater. In case link parameter or comment, the space signal is requested between | signal and next | signal like as the sample. The lack of space signal causes incorrect sequences of parameters being defined in the image parameters.

  • Minimized sample-2 (images after the turn at corner) (1998/9/12)
    image/f66.gif|*|,
    image/f66.gif,
    image/dummy.gif|*|,
    image/dummy.gif|*|,
    image/dummy.gif|*|,
    image/f66.gif,

Howerver, |*|h> signals are requested at the final definition line.

) ByPass file name like |*|, which means non of image file has been defined, may cause problem by the access MSIE4.x. Such phenomenon has been seen on some kind of Web Servers.
The access to the Top Page by the Netscape 4.x is no problem. Please define dummy.gif file in order to avoid possible problem. Wrong file name may cause same problem.
  • Q13. Is it possible to use a large image data than the applet width size

Its possible. There is no limitation.

    Q14. Can I use signal comma( , ) in a message (1998/7/26)

No, you can't use it, since comma( , ) is used separater. Please find another method.

Q15. Any additional functions for AquariumCity v2.0 (1999/3/7)

The following functions are suported for V2.0.

  • Automatic stop at the fixed position after the messages move.
  • Automatic stop at the fixed position after the layer image move.
  • Automatic stop at the fixed position after the random image move.
  • Display two different images one by one or flashing (include random move)
  • Animations with Audio file (xxx.au)
  • BackGround Music (xxx.au)
  • Individual Font Color for Message

    V2.0 Explanation is Here
  • Q16. Browser soft has stopped while playng music sound (1999/3/7)

It seems that its depended on your OS, Broswer soft or sound card whether you may have such problem or not. Its mainly caused by the competition of sound.
Insteed, Its safe to use sound function in the event only when the event may be happened by mouse touch.
Q17. Hight CPU by Netscape 4.04 though no problem on MSIE 4.01 or 5.0 (1999/4/26)

There is a case that the sources codes have been described as under sequence. In this case, kinldy make correction to the sequences. If this is not still helpful, then kindly refer below Q18.

( Incorrect ) : Describe widthsize, heightsize, sleeptime parameters in this sequence.
( Correct ) : Describe sleeptime first. Then follow widthsizeand heightsize.

Q18. Hight CPU for Message function by Netscape latest version 4.08 or 4.51
though very good on MSIE 4.0 or 5.0 or Netscape previous versions (1999/5/1)
( This problem has been cleared. Registered users can use latest versions' AquariumCity v2.0 after the download. Thanks.)(1999/7/3)
Netscape JAVA problems are referred to Here (help.netscape.com). Recommended MSIE in this site due to light and less problem for SUN JAVA JDK 1.1, SDK 1.2.1 and etc.

In case Netscape, our recommendation is the latest version Netscape 4.7 -
